How do you explain this to your kids? Owen heard us talking about it--not alarmingly. So we explained it very scientifically. I did tell them that people had died.

I haven't at all. I don't know how much Sofi has heard, but I've tried to just avoid talking about it in front of them.

we looked at the more scientific side.
a map to show where japan is. a map of fault lines. he saw pictures of the aftermath.
i don't remember specifically if he asked about people dying... he asks me that question daily about all kinds of things. i'm always truthful.

We normally avoid talking about such things as well...but Scott was listening to the radio and Owen heard about it on the way home...part of me thinks I shouldn't shelter Owen, but part of me wants to keep him innocent.
