We sang, "Follow follow me to the ring of the fairies"
I am a choo choo train puffing (or chugging) down the track Now I'm going forward and now I am going back See the bell a ringing Hear the whistle blow What a lot of noise it makes every where it goes!
Open shut them open shut them give a little clap. Open shut them open shut them lay them in your lap. Creep them creep them slowly creep them right up to your chin Open up your little mouth but do not let them in Higher Higher Higher higher till they reach the top Quickly pick them up again and turn them round and round Faster faster faster faster faster faster faster Slower slower slower slower slower slower slower Open shut them open shut them give a little clap Open shut them open shut them lay them in your lap!
Build a house build a house build it to the sky See the chimney see the roof See the floor see the pretty yellow door See the mother knead the bread see the baby go to bed See the happy children play On this bright and sunny day!
This little pig found a hole in the fence This little pig jumped through This little pig headed straight for the garden And this little pig did too But this little pig said wee wee wee look what I see This little pig said ooo juicy berries This little pig said oh nice fresh greed lettuce This little pig said here comes the farmer This little pig said you had better run or he will get us This little pig said wee wee wee he cant catch me!
Two little birds sat in a tree the first named _________ And the other named __________ Fly away ________ fly away ________ Come back ________ come back _________
In a cottage in the woods Little old man by the window stood Saw a rabbit hopping by knocking at the door Help me help me sir he said or the hunter is gonna hurt me bad Rabbit come and live with me Happy we will always be.
Oh where oh where has my little dog gone Oh where oh where could he be With his hears so short And his tail so long Oh where oh where could he be.
Old mother Hubbard went to the cupboard To get her poor dog a bone But when she got there the cupboard was bard So the poor dog had none.
Little miss muffet sat on her tuffet Eating her curds and whey Along came a spider and sat down beside her And frightened miss muffet away (we repeat the last line a few times with a few rhythms)
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after Up jack got and home did trot as fast as he could caper He went to bed and wrapped his head in vinegar and brown paper (we add repeats on "vinegar and vinegar and vinegar and brown paper" w/ a few rhythms)
Little feet on my legs Tummy round Pink and sound Arms so long and hands so small Belong to little baby (child's name) all
Thumpkin Bumpkin Merry go bet Fell in the duck pond and got all wet A nickel for a nappy And a penny for a pen To dress my little cocky Oley Bumpkin in!
Pat a cake Pat a cake Bakers man Bake me a cake as fast as you can First you roll it Then you pat it Then you mark it with a B And you put it in the oven for baby and me. (Again, b/c the kids might get wiggly, we add "for baby and me, for baby and me, put it in the oven for baby and me" with rhythms)
Cluck cluck red hen have you any eggs Oh yes oh yes as many as your legs One for your breakfast one for your lunch If you come back tomorrow then I'll have a bunch
Then we sang "Where are all the froggies?" (I can copy the music for anyone interested)
Where are the froggies when the north winds blow? We cannot see them in the ice and snow. Deep, deep down in the mud they lie, Froggies sleeping with tight-closed eyes. When the warm spring sun comes out, Froggies wake and jump about. Oh, how happy they will be - A spring-time world they will see!
same words, only Turtle and crawl about.
same words, only Bears . . . snow. Snug and warm in a cave they lie, Baby bears sleeping . . . . . . baby bears wake and run about . . .
same words, Squirrels . . . snow . . . Cracking nuts in a hollow tree, Squirrels are cozy as cozy can be. . . . sun comes out, Squirrels wake and jump about . . .
Caterpillars . . . . . . snow. Snug and warm in a chrysalis they lie, Caterpillars changing to a butterfly. When the warm spring sun comes out, Butterflies wake and flutter about . . .
