What kinds of music does your child like?  What do you listen to when you are with your child?

I haven't really dealt with this aspect of our lives yet.  We listen to a fair amount of jazz, a bit of country, a bit of adult alternative (not heavy), but the kids don't really pay attention to it.  It is more what I listen to.  They don't have much that they really listen to and request.  Occasionally Sofi will ask me to put on Tangled Up in Blue, but that is about it.  I don't like most children's CDs that I've found so far.  I'd love to hear some good recommendations!

Bryson is not a big on listening to music but he likes to make up songs. We also sing silly songs from our audio books.

We do sing a lot of kids' songs and a fair amount of made up songs.  Sofi's favorite is the Kinko's song.

I'm gonna take my garbanzo bean to Kinko's tonight!
Gonna make some copies, it'll be alright.
Gonna pass them out, to all of my friends
Then we can go back to Kinko's again!

She loves it!  Tongue

How cute. A current favorite here is the Watermelon song.

sometimes we make up songs...like, owen asked me to sing the jelly bean song.  i guess scott had made that one up for him.  i made up one that went with that...

we listen to a child's celebration of songs--pretty traditional kids stuff.  we like Raffi.  I usually can't stand most kids stuff.  we've also found a series of CDs that are soul, jazz, etc.  we like the putamayo stuff.  and ella jenkins.

...hadn't realized that we listened to so much until now Smiley

I've never listened to Raffi.  I don't know much about him.
