I prefer crochet but only because I can look at a picture and crochet it with no problem. Knitting on the other hand I am slow and I tend to spend more time ripping it out. I prefer the look and feel of knitted over crochet.

Yep. I couldn't find anything that used that thick of a yarn. I do not know enough about adapting a a pattern to use the directions.
