We have 1 cat, 1 dog, an empty aquarium that is soon to be restocked, and 4 hens.

We have 3 dogs and tons of fish over here. I am eagerly looking forward to being able to have chickens, goats and sheep.

Simple is good! I have long said I don't know how one has toddlers without a dog to clean up the floor, but then I spend so much time sweeping dog hair that I'm not sure I come out ahead.

I have never in my life not had animals around. I'm not sure I would know what to do without them.

I used to think this until I had Sebastian... and now, just about every ounce of energy, patience and care goes towards him and I can finally picture life without a dog at my feet. (Although I have always been a big animal lover.) We had two cats and a dog but when the baby arrived we had to rehome the cats due to safety reasons. So now we are down to the one dog.

I just can't wait until the chickens start laying! I keep checking every day, but we are really only at the lower age range that they start laying. But probably some time this month!!

Oh cool! Do you know about hard boiling fresh eggs vs store bought? There is a HUGE difference.

Yeah! We used to buy farm eggs at the farmer's market, but the cost was so high.

The fresher the egg the longer you have to boil it so that it is easier to peel.

Here are the directions from a friend of mine:
Get a pot of water. Add the eggs and a dash of salt. Set the timer for 25-30 minutes and walk away. Do not even think of removing the eggs until the 25 minute marker. It can take a little longer if the egg was laid within the last 8 hours.
